The Crayon Fascist | Speaking In Pictures, Hearing in Color
Something in this post resonated with me and some childhood memories I couldn’t name. Then it hit me. With me, it was journals, folders, and school supplies. It still is. Thus far I have a collection of journals dating from approximately 1990 – 2003. Actually, I still journal; it is just that now most of my entries are online and all over the place. Fortunately that hasn’t stopped me. I still collect notebooks and journals. Right now you could find half a dozen interesting journals in my house, all with very few entries. It is time to admit I like collecting journals period.
Here’s my issue. I like starting a new journal. I’ll get a few entries in and start thinking about the mistakes I’ve made and how I haven’t kept the new journal up very well. Then, unexpectedly, I’ll be shopping and see a journal or notebook I love. Patterns, texture, and size all come into play. Right now Moleskine notebooks are my favorite. And yet I am still a sucker for a kick-butt cover graphic.
