I believe I forgot to mention just how much I love Freshly Pressed and WordPress. This beautiful Saturday morning I discovered the post below on Freshly Pressed. It is exactly what I need to hear today.
Stop Sabotaging Your Own Success: A Manifesto « When I Have Time by Sara Rosso
I had an earlier version of this post which I lost when Word decided to crash on me. Unfortunately the recovery version didn’t include the latest paragraph, and I accidently dumped the entire thing. In the end, it isn’t a bad thing. I started to discuss precisely why I need to hear the message in the above post today. It turned out to be incredibly lengthy and much more well-suited for my About Me page. I may just have to do that in the future. The gist of the message is this: I can’t understand why I am now so risk adverse in my career today when I was the EXACT opposite in my academic career at Michigan State University. I consider my years at MSU extremely successful. Unfortunately, I have yet to really do much of anything with my “career.” I’m merely getting by.
But back to the topic at hand: I just find Freshly Pressed amazing. You can find Childhood Relived’s Angie Z.’s take on Freshly Pressed here: I Got Your “Freshly Pressed” Right Here « Childhood Relived. As a direct result of Freshly Pressed, I’ve discovered some wonderful bloggers. Those listed below are just a sample.

Thanks for the nice shout-out, Lindsey! Much appreciated. Now I’m off to read When I Have Time (though I never do).
Angie,
You are most welcome for the shout-out, as always. I don’t get tired of promoting your blog. I LOVE your blog. I haven’t even discussed your Naked post yet here. I DO plan on it. In fact, it is going to be part of a larger post on body image/dating/sex. Fun stuff, right? That Naked post is just amazing in its imagery… your letter to your gym teacher is the best
By the way, you won’t regret taking the time to read the post I highlighted. I SO needed to hear it today. Enjoy your Saturday!
Lindsey
Thanks! I wish I could find a way to get that letter to her. Wherever she may be. She actually got fired a couple of years later. Imagine that. May have had something to do with her charting our menstrual cycles to ensure we weren’t making them up to get out of showering.
Happy weekend to you, too.
WOW. Are you kidding me? She did that????? I would’ve been mortified enough to actually HAVE to shower after gym class, but what she did is inexcusable. I shudder in horror to think of what she’d have done with me – a girl with Turner Syndrome. We have enough anxiety surrounding puberty, thank you very much!!!! For the love of God. That woman sounds like a monster!
Lindsey
Actually, I was just thinking yesterday about poor Verna, a girl in our class with Down Syndrome, and recalling her being forced to shower, too. She didn’t seem as traumatized as the rest of us. I envied that. But really. Really. Really. Now I’m so on a mission to find out what became of this teacher.
Angie,
You need to find out what happened to her. The female PE teacher at my school, who was indeed a lesbian and involved with the art teacher, happened to be a nightmare. I’m so glad I never had her as teacher. I did end up in art class though. I wonder what happened to both of them.

Oh, by the way there were tons of sexual antics among the staff of my high school, and yes, sometimes it did involve students. I happened to hear most of it as my Mom taught at an elementary school in the same district. My former high school principal, who left the district disgruntled, eventually wrote a book about it.
Many people would consider my small Michigan town the sticks, but I can tell you what, a LOT does go on.
